Congratulations to our our own Phil Messerer for winning best director, for his film "Thicker Than Water", at the B-Movie Film Festival. The film also won for best music, so congrats to Liz Lysinger (who composed the yoskippy/hilltop theme music) and Azari Messerer, former Russian child star and an excellent pianist.

"Thicker Than Water" didn't win best movie, that honor went to "Werewolf in a Women's Prison". How can you beat werewolves and naked chicks?

So it looks like our little Vampire movie is doing pretty well. As soon it was done it was sent out and was accepted into five festivals and won viewers choice for best horror at the Independent Film Festival at Tribeca Cinema. oh yea!!!!!

is making its LA Premier on FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 28, 2007 at 11:00 AM, 100 Universal City Plaza,
Universal City Walk.

Across the Universe opens in limited release today. Since going to the movies on opening weekend has more weight than voting for the president of the United States, I think its important to support creative and groundbreaking filmmakers like director Julie Taymor (Frida, Titus, and the Broadway smash hit musical 'The Lion King').

A love story set against the backdrop of the 1960s amid the turbulent years of anti-war protest, mind exploration and rock 'n roll, the film moves from the dockyards of Liverpool to the creative psychedelia of Greenwich Village, from the riot-torn streets of Detroit to the killing fields of Vietnam. The star-crossed lovers, Jude (Jim Sturgess) and Lucy (Evan Rachel Wood), along with a small group of friends and musicians, are swept up into the emerging anti-war and counterculture movements, with 'Dr. Robert' (Bono) and 'Mr. Kite' (Eddie Izzard) as their guides. Tumultuous forces outside their control ultimately tear the young lovers apart, forcing Jude and Lucy against all odds to find their own way back to each other.

Wow. You bust your ass long enough for scraps of recognition and then all of a sudden, BAM! You're in it to win it!!!!!

The Independent Feature film festival at Tribeca Cinema this weekend was AWESOME! There were some really cool filmmakers, great films and the people that ran the festival were great. We had a great world premier.

"Thicker Than Water" won for audience choice, best horror film. It was an awesome feeling. We shot some reactions before and after the screening. Check it out.
